Australia’s Paralympians will get the chance to say ‘Thank You’ to the Australian public for their overwhelming support when Welcome Home Celebrations are held in six capital cities in coming weeks.
Following the arrival of the Australian Team back from Beijing on September 20, Welcome Home Celebrations will take place in Perth, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne respectively.
The 2008 Australian team was the largest sent to Paralympic Games overseas and returned home with 79 medals, 23 of them gold, to claim fifth overall on the medal tally.
