Greater Union Melbourne City Session Times
The Palace George complex has 3 cinema screens. It should also be noted that each Sunday a flea market operates on the plaza directly in front of the theatre.
Having played a critical role in Melbourne film and arts culture for over a decade, Palace George is the traditional haunt for those in the know.
The venue features two levels of entertainment. Upstairs the almost newly renovated Palace George Cinema Espresso Bar (it’s just about finished!!) has three distinct areas perfectly suited for meeting friends before or after the film, or for hosting your private function or event. Off the bar are three large auditoriums with a total seating capacity of over 800. The cinemas screen an eclectic mix of key art house films and quality mainstream titles.
The vibe downstairs is cheeky and relaxed and you don’t have to be seeing a film to drop in for a visit. There's live music Thursday to Sunday from 9pm till 11pm.
The Julian Banks Trio light up Sundays with high profile interstate and international jazz musicians making impromptu appearances to improvise in outstanding jam sessions.
