Enhancing Youth Pathways - Mental Health Initiative
Aims to assist the most at-risk young people to make a successful transition through to completion of year 12 (or its equivalent) and ultimately, to further education, training or employment and active participation in the community. National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011
The Australian Government committed $1.9 billion over five years in the 2006 Budget to improve access to mental health services and provide additional support to people with mental illness, their families and their carers. National Mental Health Initiatives for Children and Young People

National Mental Health Strategy

Personal Helpers and Mentors Program
$284.8 million over five years(from mid 2007) has been committed through the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs for approximately 900 Personal Helpers and Mentors to assist people who have a severe functional limitation resulting from a mental illness to better manage their daily activities and to access a range of appropriate services/supports when they need them.
