Formely, the home of William Wentworth from 1827-1853, Vaucluse House displays how the wealthy lived in Sydney during the 19th Century.
Access:
The main entry to the House is via a stair. Wheelchair access to the house will be via a side gate, adjacent to Reception. There is wheelchair access to the ground floor only.
There is braille, large print and audio guides available from the Chief Guide. There are also photographs available of the upstairs rooms and downstair' cellar.
Toilets:
There is an accessible toilet in the tea rooms, adjacent to the main house building.
Vehicle:
The carpark does not have a designated accessible carpark. The path of travel from the carpark to the House entrance/reception has a steep section (bitumen path) and 150 metres of loose gravel. Vehicles can enter the property from Olola Avenue and drop people outside reception (phone ahead ph. 9247 5033).
Bus:
The 325 bus from Circular Quay stops at the front gate. The Bondi & Bay Explorer Bus (wheelchair accessible) stop 9 is in front of the House.
Train:
The nearest accessible train station is Bondi Junction. Catch a taxi to Vaucluse House. Circular Quay Railway Station is fully accessible.
