The museum presents a lively program of changing exhibitions and educational activities.

Access:

There is ramp entry from the left side of the building from Albert Street. Use the ramp and press the buzzer at the door. (The main entry has a stair). 80% of the museum is wheelchair accessible. The Jail cells are not wheelchair accessible. There are audio/visual displays throughout the Museum. There is braille, large print, audio tapes available from the Chief Guide. Once notified the staff will place portable ramps at specific non accessible areas.

Toilets:

There is an accessible toilet.

Vehicle:

Accessible car parking at the Sydney Opera House Carpark, entry at the end of Macquarie Street. Accessible car parking is located 117 Macquarie Street Carpark, entry from Macquarie Street.

Bus:

A bus interchange is located opposite Circular Quay on Alfred Street. Wheelchair accessible buses operate on routes 390, 392, 393, 399 (Circular Quay to Kingsford and Prince Henry Hospital); route 888 (City shuttle service between Circular Quay & Pyrmont). Sydney Explorer bus stop 3 near museum.

Train:

The nearest accessible train station is Circular Quay (easy access station). The Police and Justice Museum are adjacent to Circular Quay.

Ferry:

The wharves at Circular Quay are wheelchair accessible.
