Governor Arthur Phillip built a cottage here in 1790 (the remains can still be seen today). Governor Hunter and Governor Macquarie built the existing house between 1799 and 1818.

Access:

Old Government House is not wheelchair friendly. From the carpark, there are 2 steps to the courtyard reception. From the courtyard there is one step into the rear of the House. From the main entrance into the House there are 5 steps.

Toilets:

There is no accessible toilet. There is 1 step into to the existing male and female toilets.

Vehicle:

There is parking available adjacent to Old Government House, but there is no designated accessible parking.

Bus:

Catch the RiverCat from Circular Quay and then the Parramatta Explorer Bus.

Train:

30 minutes by train. The nearest accessible railway station is Parramatta (easy access station).
