The Sydney Opera house contains a Concert Hall, an Opera Theatre, the Drama Theatre and Playhouse,The Studio,Utzon Room and Exhibition Hall, and Forecourt area.
Access:
The Sydney Opera House is not very accessible. Prior notice needs to be given to the Stage Door Security (Ph 9250 7400) for people wishing to access the Concert Hall and the Opera Theatre. The Security Office is located on the concourse level. Staff will assist people to the lift, and to the Reception level.
Seating:
All theatres (Drama Theatre, The Studio, Playhouse, Concert Hall and Opera Theatre) have wheelchair seating and hearing loops.
Toilets:
There is an accessible toilet near the Stage Door, however staff will need to be contacted to allow access. There is an accessible toilet on the lower concourse, outside the Opera House near the Carpark entry/exit. Benelong Restaurant is not accessible and does not have an accessible toilet.
Vehicle:
Nearest parking station is the Opera House Parking Station. Accessible carparks are located on level 1 & 2, however there is a steep ramp to access the lower concourse level. Take the ramp leading left to access the concourse level. There are other accessible carparks in front of the Opera House main concourse entry, near the Security Office. Taxi ranks are located on George Street (near the Regent Hotel); opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art (Rocks) and opposite Circular Quay on Alfred Street.
Bus:
A bus interchange is located opposite Circular Quay on Alfred Street. Wheelchair accessible buses operate on routes 390, 392, 393, 399 (Circular Quay to Kingsford and Prince Henry Hospital); route 888 (City shuttle service between Circular Quay & Pyrmont).
Train:
Circular Quay Railway Station is fully accessible (easy access station).
Ferry:
Alight at Circular Quay - all ferry wharves are accessible
