In 1995 The Capitol Theatre reopend to widespread acclaim for its magnificent restoration and facilities, continuing more than 100 years of entertainment tradition on the site. The restoration and extensions into a lyric theatre, included new galleries and back stage facilities.

Access:

Wheelchair entry from street level to the box office. The box office has good access, is well lit, clearly defined and is close to the entrance. Ring ahead to organise arrival. (Ph: 02 9320 5000) Assistance is provided. There is a lift to the upper levels.

Seating:

Wheelchair seating is located on the lower level. Enhanced seating is also provided. Hearing loops have been installed.

Toilets:

There are accessible toilets on each level.

Vehicle:

Vehicle set down area is in front of the main entry on Campbell St. There are 2 accessible carparks on Campbell St in front of the entry. The nearest parking station with accessible carparks is underneath Market City, entry from Quay Street (200 metres travel).

Bus:

Numerous buses run along George Street. Patrons should alight at Campbell Street (Chinatown).

Lightrail:

From Central Railway Station, alight at Capitol Station (behind Capitol Theatre on Hay Street).

Monorail:

Alight at Haymarket Station and use lift to access the ground level. Take lightrail at Haymarket Station to Capitol Station or travel 400 metres. The monorail comes via Darling Harbour and the City.
