This inspirational and very accessible venue is located 4km from the Sydney central business district, 5km from Sydney Harbour, 6km from Mascot Airport and only 200m from Redfern Railway Station.
Access:
All entrances leading into the expo area "Locomotive Workshop Precinct" are level and wide. The main entrance is at Bay 8. The Workshop area has two levels that can be accessed via lift and stair. The exhibition area will be located on ground level, which has no steps or thresholds. Take-away food is available within the exhibition area.
Toilets:
There are 4 wheelchair accessible toilets. They are located on the ground level of bays 5, 9 and 16. There is also another accessible toilet on the upper level of bay 9.
Vehicle:
There is limited disabled car parking and general parking (800 spaces) is available within the venue grounds, entty via Garden Street. No charge for cars with disability parking permits, otherwise cars can be charged a maximum of $9.
A set down/pick up area for private car, bus or taxi is located at Bay 8, the entrance to Access Expo. (on Locomative Street, adjacent to the Carpark). There is a free 30 minute drop off period for vehicles. There is a direct phone for taxis located at baus 4, 8 and 15.
Bus:
Public Transport Buses run from Boundary Street (outside the venue) to the City (Pitt Street) using routes 301-305 and 309-310. (there are no wheelchair buses).There are buses from Sydney International and Domestic Airport (routes 100, 305) that run to the venue. Route 100 has wheelchair buses running at specified times.
Train:
Though Redfern Station is only 200 metres from the Expo, it has steps leading from the Stations platforms to the venue. It is not wheelchair accessible. The nearest fully accessible "easy-access" station is Central Station.
Trains from Redfern Station take people directly into the CBD, via Central, Town Hall, Wynard and Circular Quay. Toward the west, the train takes you to Strathfield.
